SIGNAL public metrics explainer — aggregation, bias, and non-claims
How to read display_period and Defense/Stage UI numbers. Classifier weights and raw logs are not published.
Abstract SIGNAL is a public pilot lab. This explainer covers how to read UI aggregates only. We do not claim third-party red-team completion, 100% harmful-content block, or publication of classifier weights.
1. Introduction
SIGNAL numbers are not marketing KPIs — they are public measurements along Gate→Defense→Stage. Use with the 5-minute verification guide.

4. Public evidence — bias and limits
4.1 Selection bias
Public Stage shows approved queries only — not full traffic distribution.
4.2 Snapshot bias
display_period changes numbers when the window changes. Do not treat one screenshot as a permanent KPI.
4.3 Pilot limits
SIGNAL is for experimentation and transparency — not a substitute for academic benchmarks or regulatory certification.
